Music Biography

Both of my parents are musicians. My mother is a professional singer and my father is a trained pianist. I first picked up the guitar at age 7 back in Ukraine. In 1988, I relocated to the United States and it wasn’t until age 13 that I started taking guitar lessons again. In high school, I was very much involved in the music program with director Lenny Trerotola. In 1995, I was part of the school’s classical guitar ensemble, "Guitar Vortex," which recorded a full-length CD featuring my first original solo composition. I continued to study classical guitar with Mr. Trerotola while in college.

In 1996, with my high school friends, Chris, Robi, and Vinny, we formed a rock band called “DizneyFist,” which in 2001 was renamed to “54Vision.” The band recorded 3 full-length albums, two of which were constantly heard on the airways of 89.5 fm, WSOU. We performed hundreds of shows in the NY tri-state area and every now and again make reunion appearances. In 2004, Robi and I formed “D’Echo Project” - a project (partly inspired by Delerium) that collaborated with various vocalists to create something unique with each instrumental composition.

I continue to write mostly acoustic solo pieces, using FruityLoops program as backup instrumentation. This system allows me to incorporate modern flavors of ambient atmospheres and electronic melodies along with ethno-acoustic guitar styles.

In 2001, I graduated from CUNY College of Staten Island with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and a minor in Philosophy. Currently, I am working toward an MBA degree in Finance and Computer Information Systems at CUNY Baruch College and expecting to graduate in Fall of 2010.
